FedEx began its new regular cargo service on Monday 3rd June, with the first aircraft arriving from Edinburgh around 9.20pm.

The service has transferred from Newcastle, and will initially serve Teesside four days per week. The aircraft, having arrived from Edinburgh then continues on to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

The new cargo operation is based out of Hangar 3 and will provide capacity for 196,000 lbs of cargo to be transported through the airport each week and will provide increased access to key markets. It operates alongside the existing FedEx road transport base which uses Hangar 1.

This is the first time Teesside International has had a regular scheduled cargo service since 2008.
