Loganair will start a new base and routes from Teesside International Airport in 2021 which will add more connectivity and options for flying out on both business and leisure, as well as drawing inbound visitors to our region.
The base, announced on 10th November, will see an Embraer 145 aircraft based at Teesside and operating five routes.
The new Loganair routes from Teesside Airport are:
Aberdeen – Starting 21 February
Belfast City – Starting 21 February
Dublin – Starting 28 March
Jersey – Starting 8 May
Newquay – Starting 28 March
Prices start from £49.99 one-way to Belfast City, £59.99 to Newquay and Dublin and £74.99 to Aberdeen and Jersey, all include 15kg hold luggage plus 6kg hand luggage as standard.
Loganair last operated from Teesside in 2018 but has been light-heartedly playing on this in its announcements.
Friends of Teesside International Airport warmly welcome this great news for our airport, and the opportunities it brings to see it grow.
It comes on the back of the recent announcement that TUI will return in 2022 with holiday flights to Palma de Mallora from Teesside.
Eagle eyed readers will note that many of the new Loganair routes are the same as those operated by Eastern Airways, with both airlines to operate side-by-side, offering more competition, which is great for customers!
While we are still under Covid-19 restrictions at the moment, we hope these will be lifted by the time these new routes launch and that passengers will once again return to flying from Teesside, whether on staycations to Cornwall or the Channel Islands, or business routes to Aberdeen, Belfast, London and Southampton.
