There are two interesting events coming up at Preston Park near Stockton which are relevant to Durham Tees Valley’s history.

 

Goosepool: The History of RAF and RCAF Middleton St George

Stanley D. Howes will talk about the fascinating history of the military airfield that
is now Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Copies of his book ‘Goosepool: The History of RAF and RCAF Middleton St. George and Teesside Airport’ will be available for sale and signing by the author.

RAF 100: Through Adversity to the Stars

Over three days, we will celebrate RAF 100, the centenary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, with an exhibition in our Billiard Room.

Curated by the museum’s volunteers, it will contain fascinating personal items and memorabilia and will tell the stories of local people and their involvement in the RAF. As well as the displays, there will be opportunities to meet and talk with former service personnel and discover their experiences.
